American economist and professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Daron Acemoglu is one of the world’s leading scholars in institutional economics. He was awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences and is the author of the influential book "Why Nations Fail – The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty," which argues that it is inclusive institutions, not geography, culture, or resources, that determine a nation’s success. His research consistently explores the intersections of economics, democracy, and public policy.

With his studio AMDL CIRCLE, he promotes a humanistic and interdisciplinary vision of architecture.
